COACH BYRON BURCHARD, MONITEUR, EPEE, USFCA began fencing at the age of 6. Coached by his father, two-time national foil champion Peter Burchard, Byron competed through age 18; his exemplary results include a gold medal at the Pacific Coast Championships. His passion for the sport comes out in his work outs, drills and strip side coaching. Byron believes that fencing builds physical stamina and strength as well as focus, strategy and the ability to make split second adjustments to a plan as conditions change. Passing on his experience with the sport brings much joy and satisfaction.
